Hello everyone. I just started playing again after about a year and a half. When I first started I had no idea what I was doing and created an Alliance character but the server I selected is like 80% horde. Realms still matter for guilds, the economy, and mythic raiding. Even if you don't care about mythic raiding, it's best to choose a realm that's very populous for your chosen faction unless you're joining a friend who's on a different sort of realm.
