I'm planning to use the Nason Ful-thane 2k urethane (solid black) with maybe a clearcoat Nason 497 (depending on your comments). The car (a small Nissan Sentra 1996 ) is already black so it's gonna be black on black.pre-formulated flat/mat clears are SOOOOOOOOO much easier on bigger jobs and all overs. all you do is mix and go. you can adjust the flatness by how many coats and reducer, again so much easier than a flattening ratio with an additive. i've done a few with sikkens mat clear with no problems, now give me a 2 component system where i have to mix some single stage and flattener in it and i cant ...MIXING COMPONENTS Mix 2 parts NasonXL Basecoat Color to 1 part NasonXL Reducer. I was amazed at how well it sprayed. You can plow that stuff on & it will not run. Im seriously thinking about using it when I do my truck. you can even get it in Flat, Semigloss, or regular gloss. I sprayed over sanded 2K primer. Before I sprayed I wiped the panel with 70% rubbing alcohol. The fisheyes/solvent pop didn't show up until an hour or two after the last coat. I sanded down the panel with 220 and some of the craters are fairly deep but non of them go to the primer.
